July 3rd, 2012 A Community Voice members protest for jobs in the Lower 9th Ward. Residents came out to picket for jobs because recovery projects such as the streetscape improvements to N. Claiborne and St. Claude Ave. use out of town companies who fail to comply with Section 3 laws and hire residents from the community.
This is the first of many such protests to win jobs for residents.
